Rich and Creamy brownies

 

 Brownies layer

 1 pkg. Duncan Hines brownie mix  (13x9) size or Family size box

2 eggs

1/3 cup water

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

 

Topping

1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened

2 eggs

1 lb box or 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar

1 tsp. vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom of 13x9 pan.

For Brownies: Combine brownie mix, 2 eggs, water and oil in a large bowl.  Stir with spoon until well blended, about 50 strokes.  Stir in pecans if using.  Spread into prepared pan.

For Topping:  beat cream cheese in large bowl at medium speed with electric mixer until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla, then powdered sugar. Beat until smooth.  Spread evenly over brownie mixture.

Bake 45-50 minutes or until edges and top are light golden brown and shiny.  Cool completely.  Refrigerate until well chilled.  Cut into bars.
